nd the chances are, then,
that you’ll be in the Slumps,
which are icky and sticky and really the dumps.
(They’re kind of like Mono,
and worse than the Mumps.)

You may just stop caring.
Your brain may start snoring
and what was once new
may now seem rather boring.

You’ll find that the meatloaf
you tried back on Monday
has merely been re-loafed
each meal through ‘til Sunday.

And most of life’s windows that you’ll come upon
will be darked.
Just a few will have lights that are on.
(Some are broken from couches
thrown out to the lawn.)

And you’ll hide in your room
with YOUR window’s drapes drawn
‘til your mind’s mush and all motivation is gone...
