Welcome to the Nuthouse

Part 1

Jack Donaldson, host of the low-rated cable
TV game show, "Tic Tac Toe Challenge,"
tells the owner of a bar about the loss of his
money to his ex-wife and is offered a job
as a bartender.

Jack's first customer, Gabrielle Gershwin,
falls madly in love with him.
Jack discovers that Gabrielle is
a producer on real network TV!
They dance the tango to celebrate their love.
Jack invites Gabrielle to his apartment
with hopes of asking her to
manage his game show on network TV,
but he keeps getting interrupted by
door-to-door salesman, Sam Sloan.
To make matters worse, Jack's ex-wife Olga
drops in to take Jack back just as he is about
to ask Gabrielle an important question.
Gabrielle, thinking that Jack wants to marry her,
fights with Olga for Jack.
Jack leaves the fighting women to get some air.
While expressing his frustration about not
knowing what to do next, Jack says that
he thinks he's going mad. Unfortunately, the
local Nut Police observe him and arrest him
in order to preserve the sanity of the streets.
Taken to Northridge Asylum,
Jack is locked up and
given the institution's uniform.
Jack then meets Lisa Lambert, one of
the inmates at Northridge. Lisa takes
Jack around to meet the other inmates:
Jo, who can multiply huge numbers in her head;
Alan, who thinks aliens are trying to turn him
into a dog; and ...
...Phoebe, who can ony speak gibberish.
