The Story

Albert Peterson, manager of famous rock singer Conrad Birdie, finds himself in a crisis: Conrad is about to be drafted into the army. Albert's long-time secretary and girlfriend, Rose Alvarez, also faces a crisis: how can she get Albert to give up the music business (and his meddling mother), become a respectable English teacher, and marry her? Rose comes up with a plan to have Albert write a song called One Last Kiss. She and Albert will then have Conrad sing the song and bestow a kiss upon one lucky member of the Conrad Birdie Fan Club. The publicity will ensure success of the song as well as their fortunes. However, they didn't anticipate what would happen when they would encounter the MacAfee family and the town of Sweet Apple, Ohio.
