of all of the presidents during this 101 year period. (Sorry, I never did
memorize all of the presidents.) They are listed below.

So, what we can say about this?
- In the 101 years from 1901 through 2001 the US had 18 different
presidents.
- 11 of the 18 presidents (61.1%) were Republicans and 7 of the 18
presidents (38.9%) were Democrats.
- In the 101 years from 1901 through 2001, Republicans were president for
53 years (52.5%) and Democrats were president for 48 years (47.5%).
It looks like even though the years in office were pretty close to 50:50, the Republican
presidents still win the "what party will cause a recession" race by about 2:1.
