Another Day in Paradise

I started writing this song while on vacation on Washington Island in July 2008.  I didn't finish it until later that year.

Note that the title is a phrase frequently used by my brother-in-law Pudge when he is on the island.

Another Day in Paradise

Ref.  It’s just another day in Paradise
With the sun shining down on my face.
Well, I may have been happier once or twice,
But I never want to leave this place.

1.  The fields are so green and the sky is so blue;
Monet never painted like this.
That look in your eyes when I’m walking with you;
This is my definition of bliss.

Ref.  Well, it’s another day in Paradise
With the sun shining down on my face.
You know I may have been happier once or twice,
But I never want to leave this place.

2.  I may never wind up with fortune or fame,
But that’s really nothing to fear.
So when you get tired of playing that game
You know that you can find me here.

Ref.  Where it’s another day in Paradise
With the sun shining down on my face.
Well, I may have been happier once or twice,
But I never want to leave this place.

3. This road they call life that we’re traveling down,
I don’t really know where it goes,
But I'm doing fine with my friends all around,
Raise your glass; I'm proposing a toast.

Ref.  Here's to another day in Paradise
With the sun shining down on my face.
You know I may have been happier once or twice
But I never want to leave this place.

No, I never want to leave this place.
The sky is so blue and I’m walking with you
And I never want to leave this place.
