The Wedding Bell Blues ... Oranges, Yellows, Greens & Purples
(Page 1/2)
[Disclaimer: I am the father of the groom so the following story
may be slightly prejudiced.]
All weddings are special times, I guess, but when your child gets married,
that's right up there with your own wedding. So it was last week when our
son Matthew married Alexandra Trumbull. The ceremony was held in the
Bishop's Garden at the DeKoven Foundation in Racine, Wisconsin.
I
know that you've all been to weddings before, but I can guarantee you that
you've never been to a wedding like this. As the wedding started the
parents of the bride and groom walked in along with the wedding party.
(That's the first time that I've been in a wedding other than my own.)
Then, as the music switched to "Here comes the Bride" ... nothing happened.
The guests all looked around but the bride and groom were not to be seen.
The music started again, but still the bride and groom weren't there!
Then, a cell phone rang and the Celebrant answered; it was Alex! At that
point, the TV monitor that had been used before the wedding to show pictures of
the couple came on and there was Alex explaining that she couldn't get her car
started. The guests roared.
There is no way that I can do the video justice so I suggest that, when you have
an extra 7 and 1/2 minutes, you watch the video on
YouTube.com.
