The Wedding Bell Blues ... Oranges, Yellows, Greens & Purples
(Page 2/2)
Matthew looked distinguished in a white tux and top hat and a purple vest.
Alex was a vibrantly beautiful bride carrying a bouquet of purple flowers.
Each bridesmaid carried a different color bouquet -- blue, orange, yellow, and
green -- that matched the colors of the vests worn by the groomsmen. All
of the flowers were origami, made by the happy couple with lots of help from the
Best Man, Matthew's brother Eric.
During
the ceremony a friend of Alex's sang a beautiful version of Norah Jones' "Come
Away With Me" and I had the honor of doing the reading.
Then Alex said her
vows and, another surprise, Matthew sang his vows. As the ceremony ended
the Maid of Honor and Best Man held up a sheet with a big heart painted on it.
From behind, the wedding couple cut the sheet and emerged from the heart.
The
reception was excellent. Alex's parents, Charlie and Margret Trumbull,
hired a marvelous caterer from Chicago. I can't describe the food other
than to say that I went back twice and was unable to find anything that was not
incredible. After the food and the traditional and less traditional
toasts, a variety of music as played and everyone, young and old (i.e., Kathy
and me), had a great time dancing.
I wish everyone could experience the happiness that Matthew and Alex were
sharing with their families and friends on the day of their wedding and I wish
them continued happiness in the future.
